A nationwide Fast-Track Management Development Scheme with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking 100 high calibre recruits to become the leaders of tomorrow. I thought this opportunity would be of interest to recent graduates and I’m hoping you can pass this information on to people in the Russian Student Community.
Jobcentre Plus is an executive agency of the DWP and is at the forefront of supporting people through the economic downturn. To meet the demand for its services, both now and into the future, it is recruiting people to manage teams and to motivate them to provide a first class customer service while achieving stretching and challenging targets.
To accomplish this, DWP have created an accelerated Management Development Scheme that is not for the faint of heart. Following a six-week orientation, managers begin three twelve-months job placements across different business areas, with access to a support network and a personal mentor. At the end of the three-year scheme participants emerge as highly skilled managers, able to lead and deliver in a politically challenging and constantly changing environment – the foundation for a successful career within the Civil Service.
The scheme pays £24,660 - £29,800 per year dependent upon experience, with additional weighting available for those appointed in London.
